Letter from the Head
Welcome to Kingsland School website. I hope that the information provided gives you an insight into the practice and provision of the school and the values and vision that underpin our work.
Kingsland is a good school as judged by Ofsted in February 2015:
“The students were very keen to show off their school and their own achievements.…most students make rapid progress in learning how to manage themselves and their relationships with other students and staff.” Ofsted February 2015.
Kingsland has two main functions: The largest part of the school works with those pupils who have been permanently excluded from one or more mainstream schools, providing suitable personalised programmes from the sixth day following exclusion.
On the same site, but with separate facilities, is the Specialist Learning Centre (SLC). The SLC offers provision and support for Oldham pupils who, through illness or mental health issues are unable to attend their mainstream school for a fixed period of time or until they are well enough to return to their referring school.
At Kingsland we strive to provide the very best learning opportunities for all and endeavour to be creative and innovative in our approach to providing a varied and interesting curriculum for our pupils.
Thank you for visiting our website, I hope that you enjoy learning more about Kingsland.
Headteacher, Andrea Skelly
