Primary Outreach Service

Our Primary Outreach Service (POS) is a small team that offers support to Oldham primary schools when a child is experiencing significant difficulty in school and the presentation of their behaviour means they are at risk of exclusion. Our service supports staff in schools to explore any barriers to learning and to improve inclusion and outcomes for specific pupils. We do this by supporting colleagues to better understand the presentation of a child’s behaviour as a form of communication and trialling new approaches that help children to engage, enjoy and achieve in their learning.

Schools may refer to this service through this form. If a parent/carer feels their child require intervention from POS they should discuss this with the school SENDCo in the first instance.
